YOUR MYDRIVER - PRIVATE TOURING

This tour option is exactly as it says, private touring with the itinerary either provided by you or one generated through discussion. We offer this across a 4, 5, 6 and 7 hour touring format and our rates for these can be accessed on the PRIVATE TOURING page. Often we are asked to put together multiple day private charter tours of both Margaret River and other Southwest regions, including transfers from and to Perth. Inquiries are welcome and all are supported with a tailored tour itinerary to be sure we get it just right!

ULTIMATE WINERY EXPERIENCES AUSTRALIA

This is a Tourism Australia initiative promoting Australia as a food and wine destination, in the belief that it is an essential part of building the reputation of Australian tourism at home and abroad. MYDRIVER Margaret River is delighted to be the Margaret River and Southwest regional appointed representative for Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia, and offers two prescribed tour experiences as well as welcoming all inquires.

ARTISAN WINEMAKERS TOUR

As you will see this particular touring experience is both insightful and exclusive, and limited to between 4 and 6 people. It would be great to offer this as a private experience for just 2 persons, however by its very nature, this tour is subject to the availability of the wine making partners, that in turn are subject to their comparatively smaller resource base! Participation of any three artisan wine producers included, will vary through the year and is dependent upon the seasonality, and the resulting workload and commitments they are experiencing. The price per person includes all tasting fees, as well as ‘behind the scenes’ activities, and the provision of a local produce…charcuterie, cheese and fresh salad platter. And with the option to buy wine by the glass or bottle to enjoy it with. This tour stands alone in the region, and offers an incredible and exclusive insight, into the wonderful world of artisan wine production…from the grape to the glass!

SOUTHBOUND OF MARGARET RIVER

This particular tour offers the opportunity to explore the Cape region to the south of the Margaret River township. Pick up locations have been restricted (within 10 km’s of Margaret River) due to the requirement of arriving at our first destination by 10.45am. This tour is packed with an eclectic range of sensory experiences, that includes delicious wines, farmhouse food snacks, and a mediterranean style lunch showcasing local produce. The behind the scenes look into a working winery is second to none, and the guided ‘Jewel Cave’ tour simply put, is outstanding!

THE wine and food tour of the margaret river region

I have been involved in the local wine industry since 2002 and in 2007 created the regions most successful wine and food touring and epicurean experience, whilst managing the LVMH owned Cape Mentelle cellar door. Since then the availability of wine and food experiences at various regional wineries has dramatically expanded. As a result I have had the opportunity to ‘cherry pick’ what I believe represents the very best the region has to offer. Foremost is being able to offer a balanced and unique insight into the wonderful and often perplexing world of artisan, boutique and iconic wine production. This tour is full of revelations and offers a sensory overindulgence! .

WHERE DO THE TOURS DEPART?

For all of the tours your driver/host will arrive at your preferred location which is often where you are staying, and at the end of the day will return you to the same location or an alternative one of your choice.

If you have any food allergies or intolerance's please provide this information at the time of booking and we will be sure to properly cater for these. If you have booked a gourmet picnic*, then the more information you provide the more personalised the experience will be.

HOW FLEXIBLE ARE YOUR TOURS?

We pride ourselves on being one of the very few regional tour operators that has a long employment history in the local wine industry, and one that encompasses grape growing, wine making and wine education. YOUR MYDRIVER – PRIVATE TOURING tours are specifically targeted to those people who desire to explore the region, preferring to travel down a less trodden path. We are of course more than happy to provide insights and suggestions.

DO YOU HAVE A CANCELLATION POLICY?

Your host has completed the Western Australian Government Covid 19 Hygiene Training course for the delivery of tourism and hospitality experiences. The tour vehicle is meticulously cleaned on a daily basis, and hand sanitiser is available to all guests. For the foreseeable future all tours will be conducted on a Private Tour basis to ensure safe distancing protocols.

OUR NORMAL CANCELLATION POLICY IS AS FOLLOWS:

Cancellations notified more than 14 days prior to the booking date will be entitled to a full refund.

For cancellations made within 14 to 7 days of the booking date, a 12 month credit will be provided for 100% of the cost of the booking.

For cancellations made within 7 days of the booking date, a 12 month credit will be provided for 50% of the cost of the booking.

If you give us enough notice we are generally quite flexible and happy to re-book tours for another day, subject to availability.

NOTE - all booking and handling fees will be applied to any refund amount, processed upon notification of cancellation.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?

Generally, you don’t as MYDRIVER Margaret River will provide umbrellas in the event of rain and carries a stock of (recycled plastic) bottled spring water on board to stave off thirst and dehydration. Depending on the tour or the activities planned for the day, sensible and enclosed toe footwear is encouraged as we may be traipsing through the bush, vineyards and the wineries.
